Jenna Olsen

Dr. Jenna Olsen is one B Street's original veterinarians and has had the privilege of being part of its growth and evolution ever since. A graduate of the UC Davis undergrad, and subsequently the School of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Olsen moved to San Diego following veterinary school to complete a rigorous rotating internship with an emphasis on emergency and critical care.

In addition to emergency and critical care, her clinical interests include ophthalmology, radiology, and zoological and exotic animal medicine. At the heart of Dr. Olsen’s approach to veterinary medicine is a deep appreciation for the human-animal bond and the profound place pets hold in the lives of the people who love them. She has a particular interest in palliative and end-of-life care and strives to help families navigate these often difficult moments with compassion, clarity, and respect for what is most important to them and their pet.

Dr. Olsen is equally passionate about making thoughtful, high-quality veterinary care accessible to families who might otherwise face difficult choices because of financial limitations. She is especially proud of the hospital’s longstanding commitment to this effort and it's partnerships with grant organizations and community resources that help make necessary care possible for underserved families and their pets. Being able to care for patients who might otherwise have limited options is, for Dr. Olsen, one of the most meaningful expressions of what compassionate veterinary medicine can be.

After more than a decade at the practice, Dr Olsen remains grateful for the opportunity to care for generations of patients and their families and to work alongside a team she is incredibly proud of. Outside of the hospital, she enjoys staying active, spending time outdoors, exploring San Diego with her family and their four-legged friends, and enjoying all that life has to offer with the people and animals she loves.
